Over the past few years, U.S. Bank and the Minnesota Timberwolves have linked up to refurbish basketball courts for select communities around Minnesota. The campaign had been well-received since its inception, but both parties wanted a rebrand and an evergreen campaign name they could use for years to come. In came “Our Courts. Our Future.” from yours truly. As the copywriter for the Timberwolves, I was at the forefront of the all the initiatives’ branding.
After unveiling the campaign’s rebrand and getting communities excited about another year of court refurbishments, we created a website where people could vote on select courts around Minnesota, get information on the initiative, and see the winners and before and after pics of the selected courts.
There’s literally nothing like playing on a good looking court. The painted lines, the asphalt, and in this case, the Timberwolves logo right in the middle. We renewed the communities love for outside hoops with this initiative. Check out some of the courts.
The initiative was about much more than basketball courts, though. It was about community and building a bright future for the youth of the Minnesota. Even two of our very own players in Josh Okogie and Keita Bates-Diop came out to support some of the refurbishments. Smiles from kids everywhere and a lot of “Our Courts. Our Future.” shirts, too.
